Welton Chippy in Lincoln

"After not going for a few years as the food went down hill we thought we'd give it another go and so glad we did the fish was fresh piping hot, the batter was lovely and light. The chips were lovely too we will now be returning customers. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful so glad to see it back how it used to be."

"Stopped here for Saturday lunch not busy but the food was good and reasonably priced, the two ladies serving sorted our order out and cooked some more even though it was near closing time"

"First time we've been in this chippy,we're susing out the village hopefully too move there.Back to the chippy, we only had a portion of Chip's well,I also had a fish cake and I can say they're the best chips I've had for a long time,perfectly cooked and very hot. 10 out of 10.Oh the fish cake was lovely as well."

"Lovely little fish and chip shop. Service was good and staff we're nice on all occasions. A little wait at busy times but not that bad."

"I was typical 'passing trade' but was dealt with as if I was a local. The only negative thing about the food was that there was a lot of grease in the tray but maybe it was the tray's fault (as opposed to paper wrappings) the fish and chips were tasty, fresh and the 'spicy' curry sauce complimented them very well. The cost was reasonable (after the recent inflationary 'price hikes') and maybe considered on the cheap side but this didn't reflect the quality or quantity of the food. To sum up, if ever my sat nav takes me to these parts again, I will make the effort to return."

"Saturday night, called in for two regular haddock to take out. Served before I could finish reading a notice on the wall! Raced home, plated them up and was really impressed. Not a bit of grease to be seen, the batter was crunchy and the fish was light and flakey. It was a real shame when I finished mine and there were no more scraps on the plate! Nice to have a place like this within easy travelling distance Sorry no photo as it was too nice to stop eating and take one"

"You have to go to this Chippy! We've just moved near by and it's soooo good. The lady doing the frying is hilarious. Always giving the young lad on the till some 'strongly worded constructive critisism' but he smiles and gets on with it. Really polite, really engaging and the food is class. Try the nuggets. They were an extra thought and nothing like a chippy nugget I have ever seen. We'll be back"
